Self Propelled Suitcase
Traveling gets tiresome inevitably even since we can’t cut down on our luggage and neither can we employ a chauffeur to help us out with the work. With the arrival of the self propelled suitcase, you don’t need to do either of the above. The self propelled luggage automatically provides power assistance when you encounter inclines or are straining to roll the luggage.
The handle motors are equipped with sensors which detect how much force you are using to pull the luggage and signal to electric motors in the wheels to aid your struggle, propelling the suitcase up to 3Mph. All it requires is a 5 hour charge and it is ready to go for up to 2.25 hours. The convenience costs you $1,300, which is worth it and way lesser than those useless old trunks that are heavy as hell!

Is this woman the oldest person in the world?
Officials in Kazakhstan say they have a found a woman who will this week celebrate her 130th birthday, making her 16 years older than the oldest known human currently living. Sakhan Dosova - a mother of ten - says she has never visited a doctor nor eaten sweets. She is addicted to cottage cheese and puts her longevity down to her sense of humour.
Her remarkable age came to light during a census in Karaganda in northern Kazakhstan. Demographers were astonished to find that she was also on Stalin's first census of the region in 1926 when her age was given as 47.

Who needs NASA?
All you need is US$100.00...Teenagers armed with only a £56 camera and latex balloon have managed to take stunning pictures of space from 20-miles above Earth. Proving that you don't need Google's billions or the BBC weather centre's resources, the four Spanish students managed to send a camera-operated weather balloon into the stratosphere.
Taking atmospheric readings and photographs 20 miles above the ground, the Meteotek team of IES La Bisbal school in Cataluña completed their incredible experiment at the end of February this year. Building the electronic sensor components from scratch. Created by four students under the guidance of teacher, followed the progress of their balloon using high tech sensors communicating with Google Earth. "We took readings as the balloon rose and mapped its progress using Google Earth and the onboard radio receiver." At over 100,000ft the balloon lost its inflation and the equipment was returned to the earth.
They travelled 10km to find the sensors and photographic card, which was still emitting its signal, even though it had been exposed to the most extreme conditions. The pupils' incredible school science project has already caught the attention of the University of Wyoming in the US.

How to boost your brain's performance
Even if you think you’re pretty smart or have a good memory, your brain is begging you to work it to its full potential. With these tips and ideas for flexing your brain power, you’ll be able to boost performance right now and in the future.
Daily Habits
Make a point to exercise, sleep on a regular schedule and socialize with friends and family each day for the sake of your brain.
1. Sleep right: Healthy sleeping habits, like getting enough sleep and sticking to a regular sleeping schedule, can promote brain health by improving your ability to focus and remember things. Get at least eight hours of sleep to ensure that you reach your REM cycle.
2. Exercise: Exercise boosts your mood by releasing endorphins, but it also stimulates oxygen intake and "increases levels of brain chemicals that encourage the growth of nerve cells" that help memory, according to the AARP.
3. Socialize with friends and family: Studies have shown that remaining socially active is very important in reducing your chances of dementia.
4. Do the daily crossword puzzle: Exercise your brain and maintain cognitive function by doing puzzles and brain teasers everyday.
5. Read: Read the newspaper, a magazine, books, and online material to keep your brain sharp and to challenge yourself to learn new words and information.

Soda, Pop, or Coke?
The Dictionary of American Regional English, a comprehensive lexicon of local language quirks, nears completion. The Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE), one of the oldest and most ambitious projects in the history of American lexicography.
Dedicated to capturing all terms that are not part of standard English nationwide, DARE dates from the 1960s and will finally be fully published in 2010 (though its eventual digitization promises to enrich and expand the dictionary indefinitely).
Here are some words and expressions I found for the first time in this unique word-book; they are the mere tip of the tip of the dictionary-berg:
mubble-squibble
If you thought there was only one word for a noogie, here’s a synonym from North Carolina that will liven up your childhood memoirs.
monkey’s wedding
Like dog’s breakfast, this expression (found in Maine) describes a hot mess, a real cluster-something.
cockroach killers
Found in New Jersey, this is a term for shoes that are pointy enough to go medieval on our revolting friends.
to fight one’s hat
This southwestern expression means “to struggle uselessly,” which makes sense if you’ve ever tried to pick a fight with a lid, most of which are neither pugnacious nor easily offended.
death balls
You may know them as dust bunnies, but in the dust bunny community, this southwestern Missouri term is favored since it commands more respect. The example in DARE indicates that death balls reveal not only past squalor: they foretell future death. (Note to self: clean under couch).

Is This The Real Shakespeare ?
After three years of meticulous analysis, x-rays and infrared imaging, experts claim to have uncovered the only surviving portrait of William Shakespeare painted during his life. The oil canvas is thought to have been painted in 1610 - six years before the playwright's death - when he was about 46 years old.
It remained in the same family for centuries and was inherited by art restorer Alec Cobbe. In 2006, he visited the National Portrait Gallery and saw a painting of Shakespeare that hangs in the Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington.
It had been accepted as a life portrait of Shakespeare, but was discredited 70 years ago. Mr Cobbe saw the painting and realised the similarities with the painting he had inherited.
Believing his painting to be the original, he contacted Professor Stanley Wells, chairman of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, who was initially sceptical.

Entrepreneurs found recipes for success in tough times
Topless coffee shop a hit in small Maine town
On Monday, Donald Crabtree opened Grand View Topless Coffee Shop in Vassalboro, Maine, where the waiters and waitresses serve their customers topless.
In a town with fewer than 4,500 residents, the topless coffee shop is booming with business. Paul Crabtree, the owner's brother, describes business so far as "fantastic." "It's just been crowds mobbing in," he said. The flood of job applications -- more than 150 -- for Grand View Topless Coffee Shop reflected the rough job market.

For sale: One life in China
Chen Xiao had pretty much given up making her own decisions and so decided to throw open her life to the whims of China's hundreds of millions of Internet users, known in China as netizens. "It's your right to arrange Chen Xiao's life, and it's my obligation to serve you," read her online shop. Since December, Chen has been allowing others to decide what she will do each day, because, for the most part, last year was awful, she said. Her hometown was hit by blizzards, her country rocked by a devastating earthquake, friends divorced and her clothing shop went bankrupt. What she stumbled upon was not only a new life but a new way to make a living.
She charges about $3 an hour, and she's been asked to do almost everything from delivering pet food to caring for stray cats to taking a hot lunch to a homeless man. Chen does not know how much longer she will keep taking cyberrequests. For now it is a good way to survive the financial crisis when many others are losing their jobs and businesses are going broke. "When people stop needing me, I'll go back to my original life. But I don't know what will come," she said.
